Clean Wax from Carpet
  1. Remove as much of the wax as possible by hand or with a vacuum.
  2. Place a piece of paper over the wax (old grocery bags work great!).
  3. Heat up an iron and run it over the paper. Two or three times over should be enough to melt the wax.
  4. Lift the paper, the wax should have melted into the paper and away from the carpet!
Cleaning Wine from Carpet
  1. Sprinkle salt on spill.
  2. Let salt absorb.
  3. Rinse with cool water.
Clean Computer Mouse
  1. These instructions are intended for an analog (non-optical) mouse.
  2. Turn the mouse upside down.
  3. Generally there is a locking retainer ring surrounding the mouse ball. Remove it by putting pressure on two sides of the ring with your fingers and rotating counterclockwise.
  4. Remove the mouse ball.
  5. There will be three rollers on the inside of the housing, two are for tracking (horizontal/vertical) and the third is for keeping the ball in contact with the other two.
  6. Swab all three with cotton swabs dipped in isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol until all the debris is removed.
  7. Replace the mouse ball
  8. Replace the retainer clip by setting it in place and rotating clockwise until it stops. You should not need to force it.
Clean Computer Screen/Monitor
  1. Turn off the monitor so you can see the dirt better.
  2. Dampen a lint free cloth with ammonia or glass cleaner.
  3. Wipe from top down rubbing difficult areas.
Clean Shower Door Tracks
  1. Using an old toothbrush, loosen up any dirt and hair.
  2. Vacuum with attachment.
  3. Using a liquid spray cleaner.
  4. Scrub with tile brush and toothbrush.
  5. Rinse tracks by pouring water onto them or with a shower wand.
  6. Wipe away any remaining dirt with cloths.
Clean Shower Walls
  1. Spray walls with phosphoric acid cleaner to remove the mineral deposits and wipe with a sponge.
  2. Apply the critus slove (or any degreaser) with a hand sprayer to remove the soap scrum and wipe off with a sponge.
  3. Use hand and eye protection.
Clean Mildew from Basement Walls
  1. Tape the pieces of foil tightly to the floor and walls in different areas.
  2. During the next two days you should look for moisture between the concrete and tin foil.
  3. If moisture is present, this means you have a problem and need to repair the foundation or a floor leak.
  4. If the problem cannot be solved contact a professional.
  5. If the moisture remains on the surface, this means there is a problem with the humidity.
  6. So in the summer, introduce air circulation by opening windows, and in Winter close the windows and doors.
  7. Can clean with a solution of 1:3 chlorine bleach and water.
Clean Painted Walls
  1. Brush away any cobwebs and dust from the wall with a brush.
  2. Remove any remaining dirt with a dry-sponge.
  3. Rub the dry sponge along the wall to lift dirt.
  4. Fill a bucket about 3/4 with warm water.
  5. Add a small amount of dish soap into the bucket.
  6. Wring out sponge in empty bucket
  7. Dip the flat face of sponge into cleaning bucket until damp.
  8. Spread the cleaning solution with the sponge working top to bottom.
  9. Sqeeze the sponge over the empty bucket.
  10. Using a dry towel, blot the surface of the wall you've cleaned as to lift any further dirt.
  11. Repeat this process until cleaned the entire wall.
A Few Natural Cleaning Agents
  • Grease Cutter - Vinegar is a natural grease cutter. Add it to dishwater, countertop cleaning and glass cleaners.
